Artisan coffee house, restaurant and bar group Grind is to open its largest ever site, in the former Jamie’s Italian site in Greenwich.

The opening, set for late 2018, sees the David Abrahamovitch-led group move outside London’s Zone 1 for the first time.

The 6,000 sq ft site in Nelson Road will feature a cocktail bar and lounge to the front of the listed building, alongside a dedicated, grab-and-go café. To the rear will be a 160 cover dining room and garden set in the rear conservatory.

The group, which currently operates eight sites, secured over £2m to fund further expansion in a crowdfunding push at the end of last year. It also has a partnership with travel concessions operator SSP, with the first site opening in London Bridge station.

Abrahamovitch said: “We’ve never taken a project of the scale of Greenwich Grind, and we couldn’t be more excited to share everything we’ve been working on with the people of Greenwich. From our very first visit, we all fell in love with this incredible space in this beautiful neighbourhood - and we’re thrilled to become a part of it.”

Davis Coffer Lyons acted on the deal.
