The Galway Roast, the Irish cafe operator, plan to launch in the UK under franchise and is looking at sites in London, company owner Niall Murphy has told M&C Report.

He said the Galway-based company, which has three sites in the Republic and is due to open its fourth soon, has been examining sites across London for potential locations.

“We are looking at properties. I’m hoping to be open there in the new year,” he said.

Murphy said Galway Roast planned to operate in London under a franchise agreement. Asked how many it could operate in the UK, Murphy said: “We will open this one and see how it goes.”

He added that the UK sites would have a greater emphasis on food, with sandwiches, paninis and salads offered.
