G1 Group, the Scottish leisure operator led by Stefan King, is launching a new café concept in Perth within a cinema foyer called City Café Perth, M&C Report has learnt.

The café will sell speciality coffees, beers, milkshakes as well as food including sandwiches and salads.

G1 has worked with local baristas to develop the City Café Perth; a spokesperson for G1 said artisan coffee and craft beers are playing an ever greater role in all G1 venues.

“All our venues have a really strong coffee offering; it’s something we take very seriously these days,” a spokesman for G1 told M&C

The café will open in Perth’s Playhouse Cinema on 26 July as part of investment in the cinema that has included the installation of an Imax screen.

The City Café opens just ahead of Harry’s restaurant and brasserie style bar that will open across the street from the cinema in Perth.

Harry’s will serve stone baked pizzas, pastas and burgers as well as a broad cocktail offering.

G1 operates c.40 managed sites, along with 110 tenanted outlets in its Iona Pub Partnership arm.
