Foodco, the parent company of bakery franchised group Muffin Break and café brand Jamaica Blue, has appointed Lisa Brook as its UK general manager.
Brook was formerly the director at Flour Power City Bakery until it merged with Patisserie Holdings in 2014, after which Brook joined Philpotts to launch the Café Philpotts concept.
In the new role she will grow the Muffin Break and Jamaica Blue brands as well as brand positioning and the ongoing development of the business’s food and coffee outlets.
Mike Arbuckle managing director of Foodco UK said: “Lisa joins us at a really exciting time, as the business makes plans for significant growth. Myself and the Foodco team are all very much looking forward to working with her as the Muffin Break and Jamaica Blue brands continue to grow in the UK.”
The 53-strong Muffin Break is looking to grow its presence in shopping centres, hospitals and retail parks by adding 10 new units in 2015.
The UK’s first Jamaica Blue site opened in Cambridge in December. FoodCo told M&C expanding and franchising the brand is a priority for the company.
