The Department of Coffee and Social Affairs, the highly-regarded, central London-based group, is to make its debut outside the capital in Croydon.
The eight-strong company, which earlier this year spoke of its ambition to grow to 50 sites, is one of the last operators to sign up for the Boxpark scheme in Croydon that is set to open later this month.
The coffee shop operator will join 35 traders, including The Breakfast Club, Chilango, MEATliquor and new David Page-backed concept Fixed, spread out over two floors in shipping containers at the scheme.
The Craft Beer Co had previously been lined up to take a site at the scheme, but has since pulled out from opening in the development.
The Cronx, Croydon’s local brewery, is to launch its first ever craft beer bar in Boxpark. It also plans to serve grilled cheese sandwiches.
CWM is acting on the scheme.
