Coffee technology manufacturer Coffetek has launched a self-service food and beverage dispensing system that can offer meals, snacks and hot drinks to go.

The Button Gourmet has been developed for high footfall locations such as corporate offices, leisure centres and hospitals, to offer food and beverage options without the operating costs of a retail outlet.

The seven metre long unit stocks and serves up to 180 food, snack and cold drink products plus an extensive range of barista style hot beverages. The touch screen system allows customers to order meals, accepts cards and cash payments and serves meals on a tray.

Ian Johnston, Coffetek’s sales director said: “The trend for all-day dining and growing demand for quality convenience food means that caterers have to rethink how they deliver food on-the-go. Equally, operators are facing significant challenges from rising energy and food costs so it is essential that they look for ways to improve their profitability.

“With this in mind, our new product development team has combined vending and retail with the latest technology to create an economical solution for those who want to provide a strong food and drink offer, without the costly overheads of staff and retail space.”

The units are equipped with a stock replenishment system and an automatic reboot function in the event of power failure.
