Coffee Republic, the rapidly expanding coffee shop group, is on track to double its UK estate by the end of the year.

The franchised operator has a pipeline of planned openings at London’s Golders Green, Bedford, Friars Square Shopping Centre in Aylesbury, Romford and Manchester.

Richard Shakespeare, head of franchising, told M&C the group is focusing its UK expansion efforts around London.

In the UK it has four company-owned units and 25 sites operated under franchise agreement.

The company is in the process of re-branding its estate with an updated logo and modern interiors at its newest sites.

Internationally the group has signed a master franchise deal to open two outlets in the Kingdom of Bahrain this year.

It has also extended its partnership with its Spanish franchise partner to open a store at Fuerteventura Airport to add to its existing sites at Lanzarote and Barcelona T1 airports.
