Coffee Republic, the expanding coffee shop group, is preparing to open its next UK site in Bedford and is on track to sign 20 new franchisees in 2015, head of franchising Richard Shakespeare told M&C Report.
The group is currently fitting out a unit on Bedford High Street for its next planned store as part of efforts to double the size of the estate by the end of the year.
Having opened at Northampton Railway Station in March, Whitechapel, and East Shopping Centre the company now has 20 franchised coffee bars in the UK, as well as four company owned bars.
It is focusing on locations in and around London for new sites and is interested in securing sites prime High Street, busy footfall locations, the average footprint being 100sq m, with corner aspects and outside seating.
Internationally the group has sold the franchise rights for the Kingdom of Bahrain as a territory with the first shop anticipated to open shortly.
The 18th international franchised Coffee Republic bar opened last month at Barcelona’s El- Prat, Airport Terminal 1. The airside store is operated by the same franchisees who opened Coffee Republic at Lanzarote Airport last summer.
