Indian street food café franchise Chaiiwala has signed an area agreement to roll out 10 new sites in Birmingham.

The territory agreement involves Domino’s and Anytime Fitness franchisees Balkar and Mandeep Garcha, trading as Garcha Brothers Ltd.

The deal follows news of two forthcoming openings for the café and takeaway brand, which serves Indian tea, breakfast and street food snacks.

Manchester Cheetham Hill will be the third site in Greater Manchester under Usman Malik of Retail Mark, following Rochdale and Bolton, with a fourth site under construction in South Manchester.

Meanwhile another store is due to open on The Broadway, Greenford, West London, which will be the brand’s 31st in the UK.

Chaiiwala, which means tea artists, started in Delhi in 1927, and launched in the UK four years ago.

The menu includes an all-day breakfast of omelette, spicy beans or dal, roti and chai, alongside dishes such as chilli paneer, butter chicken roti, pav bhaji and mogo chips.

The development is being overseen by franchise director Nil Naik, formerly of Coffee Republic, Papa John’s and Domino’s.
