BP petrol stations have been voted the most popular for coffee while it was tied with Texaco as the best for fresh food, according to a recent ranking by Market Force Information.
The survey found supermarket petrol stations scored highest overall for service and experience with 52% of participants listing Sainsbury’s as their preferred petrol retailer.
The survey looked at the total experience offered including quality of fuel, price, service, brand image and added value services such as food and drinks.
BP’s link up with Marks and Spencer assisted it to receive the best rating for fresh food, with 13% of those surveyed preferring it or Texaco.
For coffee, traditional petrol stations outperformed the supermarkets with BP top with 13% followed by Shell (12%), Esso and Texaco (both 10%).
