City Centre Restaurants, owners of the Caffe Uno chain, is holding talks with Groupe Flo about a £15m deal to take over the French company's 12 outlets in Britain.

The French company is understood to be reviewing its British operation and is considering either selling or sub-contracting the management to City Centre in return

for shares in the British company. The deal would give City Centre its first French-style eateries, enabling it to compete with Whitbread's Cafe Rouge and the Dome concept.
