The company said last year it wanted to sell 140 sites including some Café Rouge and Bellas Pastas.
Whitbread said the Brewers Fayres it wanted to sell did not fit as well as the others with its plans.
The company is believed to be looking at the Aroma chain of coffee shops McDonald's owns.
