THE hotel whose guests have included Diana Ross, Princess Margaret and Sadie Frost has been bought out of administration in a deal worth £20million. Blakes Hotel has been bought by leisure entrepreneurs Meir Abutbul and Navid Mirtorabi. They will bring in the London hotel’s founder Anouska Hempel to oversee a £2.5million renovation programme. The pair also hope to expand the Blakes brand internationally. Hempel created Blakes in 1981 as one of the world’s first boutique hotels. It was where Liam Gallagher and Patsy Kensit celebrated the first night of their honeymoon and was the venue for the Duchess of York’s 40th birthday party. Blakes was one of six owned by GuestInvest, which collapsed in 2008.
