French chef Pierre Levicky has been banned from being a company director for 13 years after the restaurant chain Pierre Victoire was placed in receivership on Friday for the second time.

He founded Pierre Victoire in Edinburgh in 1989, offering French food at discount prices, and expanded largely through franchises.

At the company's peak there were more than 100 restaurants in the UK and it was being groomed for a flotation on the Stock Exchange.
