The average pub sold 157 extra pints over the weekend of 25-26 February vs an average weekend, as Six Nations provided a trading boost.

According to market intelligence company Oxford Partnership, draught beer and cider sales grew by 29% on average over the third weekend of the rugby competition vs non-match weekends in 2023.

The average pub served 711 pints of draught beer and cider over the third weekend, equating to £2,878 in income and 27 million pints sold across the country.

Consumer dwell time also rose by 37 minutes on average on match days, while occupancy rates at outlets that screened the matches was 27% higher than non-rugby outlets.
