An emphatic 80% of restaurant, pub and bar operators say the Eat Out to Help Out scheme has worked well for their business.

The weekly Hospitality Leaders Poll, commissioned by MCA with Lumina Intelligence, found 71% would like to see the government scheme repeated again in future.

Most (68%) are not finding the guidelines on social distancing, test and trace and two-person households too difficult, though 32% said the measures were challenging to execute.

Customers were hailed for cooperating with the guidelines, with 88% of commending their guests for working together on the virus mitigation measures.

Confidence was up 10 percentage points overall, with operators saying they were confident (18%), not confident (23%), or very confident (6%).

Just 23% said there were not confident in the future of their business.

The weekly poll asks 250 operators topical questions about their business, and is commissioned in partnership with Big Hospitality and Morning Advertiser.
