Byron and Browns have been named the most satisfying eating-out brands and Five Guys the best quality in CGA Peach’s BrandTrack survey.

The list of the nation’s top 40 brands put the Mitchells & Butlers owned brasserie chain Browns and premium burger concept Byrons - its first year in the ranking - joint top. Buffet brand Cosmo, pan-Asian group Wagamama and Greene King’s Loch Fyne were the other names in the top five.

Five Guys had the highest rating on food quality with 53% of its customers ‘very satisfied’. Loch Fyne was second with 49% and Wagamama third on 47%.

Crown Carveries rates highest on value for money with 45% of its customers giving it top marks, ahead of buffet group Cosmo (42%) and fellow carvery concept Toby (40%)

Jamie Oliver’s Jamie’s Italian came top for satisfaction with service, with 43% of diners strongly agreeing that it was good. Browns (42%) and TGI Friday’s (41%) completed the top three.

Patisserie Valerie was top in the café, fast food and bakery sectors, with 39% of guests very satisfied with their experience.

The poll also shows the brands rising up the overall customer satisfaction chart in 2015, including TGI Friday’s, Bella Italia and Café Rouge.

Peter Martin, vice president of CGA Peach, says: “The UK’s eating-out market is more competitive than it has ever been, and all brands have to work incredibly hard to keep their guests satisfied. These fascinating figures reveal which of them do so best, and we salute them all.”
