McDonald’s and Uber have partnered to bring delivery, click & collect, takeaway, table service and drive thru digital functions together for the first time via the My McDonald’s consumer app.

The first McDonald’s market to pilot the partnership, it will see Uber providing a white-label technology and delivery function, while keeping consumers within the McDonald’s app.

The partnership aims to offer a “fully in-app, seamless” delivery ordering option, as part of an ambition to offer “ease, speed and convenience” to customers.

Those placing a delivery order through the My McDonald’s app will have their orders facilitated through Uber and the network of couriers who use the app.

Paul Pomroy, CEO, McDonald’s UK and Ireland said: “As we look to enhance the delivery experience for our customers as part of our Accelerating the Arches growth strategy, we’re excited to be the first McDonald’s market to pilot this new offering with Uber. Offering McDelivery via the My McDonald’s app will provide customers with a convenient, fast and personalised experience, making it even easier to enjoy their favourites whenever and however they choose.”

Pierre-Dimitri Gore-Coty, Uber’s global head of delivery said: “We are excited about continuing to innovate in the Uber - McDonald’s partnership, which will harness the best of Uber technology to help power the McDonald’s app in the UK. We know that the needs of restaurants and merchants are evolving more quickly than ever, and we are committed to providing world-class solutions to our partners around the world.”
