Nissan has developed a car that can stop drivers from drinking when over the limit.
The car uses a combination of electronic “air-sniffers”, a detector which analyses sweat in the hand touching the gearstick and behavioural detectors to determine whether a driver is inebriated. If so, it immobilises itself.
The car can differentiate between the driver’s breath and that of passengers.
