Wagamama, the Duke Street Capital-backed chain, is looking to ramp up its digital and insight expertise with the appointments of a head of insights and a head of digital.

It is thought that both roles will report into the group’s marketing director Simon Cope.

For the head of insights role, the group is looking for someone who will build “a formidable understanding of consumer behaviours” and generates unrivalled insight, enabling us to stand out in every local region”.

For the head of digital role, the company is seeking someone “with a panoramic view of the digital landscape” and who can elevate its “online brand and transforms it into a global presence”.

The brand has four new openings lined up for the first part for next year after opening its final site for 2013 at the Aberdeen Academy earlier this week.

It plans to open 15-20 sites in total next year and has lined up the former Slug & Lettuce site in Sevenoaks, a unit at the Arc shopping centre in Bury St Edmunds and a site in Aylesbury for early next year.

The 103-strong group will open its first site of the new year in Chichester on 13 January, followed by its opening in Whiteleys, Fareham on 22 January.
