Miller & Carter and Cosmo were the top-ranked restaurant brands in MCA’s analysis of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

MCA’s UK Restaurant Market Report found that all of the top 10 brands maintained or improved their overall experience KPI scores between June 2016 and June 2017, with an overall average of 8.3.

Mitchells & Butlers’ brand, Miller & Carter, and Cosmo, the world buffet operator, both scored 8.9 when all experience KPIs were combined. Côte (8.7), Wagamama (8.6) and Yo! Sushi (8.5) were the next highest ranked.

Looking at individual KPIs, Cosmo was the top ranked restaurant brand for value for money and low prices.

The report shows that despite its higher ticket offering, Côte scored second highest for value for money. ASK Italian also saw a notable increase on this metric year-on-year. Nando’s was the second highest ranked for low prices.

Miller & Carter scored highest for food and drink quality, at 9.2, followed by Côte and YO! Sushi, while Carluccio’s also saw a notable increase in this measure, as it launched a new menu developed alongside Antonio Carluccio, endorsing the brand’s authenticity credentials.

Miller & Carter also topped the list for freshness, where Bill’s saw the greatest improvement over the year growing its score from 8.2 to 8.6 year-on-year. Cosmo was top for menu choice, followed by Miller& Carter and Côte.

Cosmo was again the leading brand when it came to speed of service, followed by YO! Sushi, while Miller & Carter narrowly pipped Côte to the top of the friendly service rankings.

When looking at both Net Promoter Scores and revisit intention scores Côte ranked topped.
