The Institute of Competitive Socialising ICD), the operators of the Swingers crazy golf, street food and cocktails concept, has secured a site in New York for its first overseas operation, MCA has learnt.

A 22,000 square foot Swingers, the largest to date, is due to open in the basement of the new flagship Virgin Hotel in the city in September 2019.

Full details have not yet been disclosed, but ICS co-founders Matt Grech-Smith and Jeremy Simmonds said it will feature three nine-hole crazy golf courses, one more than each of its London sites, plus food outlets and bars.

The company, which is discussing funding options, appointed operations director Adrees Ali, formerly of Brooklyn Bowl, the North American entertainment-based food and beverage business, in November.

The company, which launched as a pop-up venue in Shoreditch in 2015 and opened a permanent site in the City a year later, launched its second venue off Oxford Street earlier this month.

An interview with the founders will feature in MCA’s April print journal.
