Popular supper club Little Kolkata is to open its first permanent site in Covent Garden in June.

Opening on Shelton Street, the restaurant will have an expanded Calcuttan menu, cocktail list and exclusive themed evenings.

Co-founders Prabir Chattopadhyay and Biswajit Deb Das have based Little Kolkata on authentic Bengali cuisine, with dishes to include sharing plates of Maacher cutlet (£6.50), a cod fish cutlet served with the typical Calcuttan mustard sauce Kashundi, and Lilish Maacher Deemer (£8.50), a spiced fish egg from the Hilsa.

A contemporary yet classic cocktail menu will include a Saffron Spritz (£11) and Indian Summer Garden (£9).
