Franco Manca, the Fulham Shore-owned, David Page-led chain, has launched a click and collect service across its 22-strong estate, MCA has learnt.
The group has worked with MyCheck on the launch of the takeaway service and recently appointed operations director Javed Akhtar told MCA that initial feedback had been “excellent from both our customers and restaurants teams”.
Akthar said that the company had invested heavily in a more heat retentive box for take away, as well as its other take away packaging.
Page told MCA that in terms of expansion the company, which will open a further six sites this year, was negotiating or had put in planning for 10 more restaurants to open by the end of next autumn, and was looking in cities such as Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds, Bath and Oxford.
He said the company was now building its pipeline for 2017/18/19 with a target of around 10 openings a year.
It will open this summer in Tooting Market (June), Muswell Hill Broadway (June), Bromley (June), Kilburn High Road (July).
Sites have also been signed in Southampton and the Nova Victoria development which will bring the estate size to 28 by the end of the year.
Page said: “We are opening where real people live and work - not Mayfair or Knightsbridge. Will keep some empty - either built or undeveloped - until operators are ready for them. There are lots of vacant properties around - BHS - Austin Reed –plus all banks are looking to reduce store numbers drastically.”
