Ed’s Easy Diner, the Andrew Guy-led chain, is lining up a further opening within a Debenhams store in Manchester, M&C understands.

The group, which previously had been in advanced talks to open in the city’s King Street, is believed to be taking space at the retailer’s Market Street site.

M&C revealed last week that the company is set to operate its first restaurant inside a Debenhams with an opening in Basildon.

The Debenhams site is the second time Ed’s has linked up with a retailer after a successful collaboration with Selfridges.

The group, which has openings lined up in Houndshill, Blackpool and Grand Central, Birmingham, opened its latest site this week in Woking.

The company, which is expected to change hands by the end of the year, is advanced talks to launch in the Middle East.

It expects to open 20 new sites under its core brand this year in the UK.

It believes there is potential to operate up to 150 sites in the UK.

Ed’s declined to comment.
