High-profile chef Cyrus Todiwala is offering ‘grab & go’ food at his recently opened Goan-Portuguese casual-dining restaurant Assado, near London’s Waterloo.

This is the first of Todiwala’s four restaurants to offer a take-away menu, which will include freshly baked pizzas to order, to cater for the high footfall of commuters and tourists.

Todiwala has opened a restaurant each year for the past few years, although there are no immediate plans for the next opening a spokesperson for Assado told M&C Report: “Who knows that 2015 could bring?”

The Goan-Portuguese menu is a fusion of east and west, featuring mild and spicy curries and its signature dish, Pulled Pork Assado. The quick service counter will sell a selection of sandwiches, charcuterie, snacks and ready meals.

Assado opened its doors in March offering a pre-theatre menu for a quick bite as well as traditional sit-in dining options.

Cyrus and Pervin Todiwala also operate Café Spice Namaste, Mr Todiwala’s Kitchen at Hilton London Heathrow Terminal 5 and The Park Café are also managed by the Todiwalas.
