Hampshire-based Upham Pub Company, the sister company to Upham Brewery, has continued its expansion with the acquisition of a pub from Enterprise Inns.

Upham has secured the White Hart in village of South Harting, near Petersfield, for an undisclosed sum.

A spokeswoman said: “The pub brings with it beautiful views over the South Downs as well as country barns, which Upham will be applying for a licence to turn into rooms in due course. Upham are really excited about their new venture and re-establishing The White Hart as the heart of the community.”

Earlier this week Upham co-founder David Butcher told M&C Report that the company had raised about £11m for expansion under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) and hoped to increase this to £15m by the end of the year. It aims to grow to between 20 and 30 sites.
