Turtle Bay, the Caribbean restaurant concept developed by Ajith Jayawickrema, one of the founders of Las Iguanas, has secured Peach Pub Company’s the Almanack unit in Leicester’s Highcross shopping centre.

The site will become a fifth site for the company, which recently secured new funding, which will allow it to open 10 new restaurants over the next couple of years.   

The four-strong chain secured a financing agreement with Santander Corporate & Commercial, which willl aid its expansion across the UK.

Turtle Bay opened its first restaurant in Milton Keynes in 2010 and has since opened sites in Bristol, Southampton and Nottingham.

Peach Pub Company, the multiple operator led by Lee Cash and Hamish Stoddart, recently announced plans to open its first site in Birmingham with a £1m investment.

It recently opened the Chequers in Eversley Cross in Hampshire, which it acquired earlier this year from Spirit.
