Almost 1,500 Punch Taverns licensees and their staff have taken part in the relaunched workshops focused on giving them key business skills for operating in the pub sector.

The short courses include topics such as social and digital media, service and sales, marketing and merchandising, finance, team leadership, food and pub accommodation. 

The workshops are led by in-house trainers. Licensees can sign up when placing their drinks order and the training is delivered regionally.

So far, more than 1,000 pubs have taken part in a total of 162 workshops, with “Best in Sport” proving a particularly popular topic in the run-up to the World Cup. “Finance and pricing” also topped a recent survey, selected by 55% of those who took part.
