Craft beer pub operator and beer importer Pivovar has launched a new smokehouse and craft beer concept which it wants to roll out to more sites, MCA has learnt.

Managing director Jamie Hawksworth told MCA that the concept, Pavement Vaults, has opened in York and he is currently looking for more sites in the north.

“We’ve engaged a three-time UK champion and world finalist barbeque chef Andy Annat.”

Hawksworth said he wants to open up to five more Pavement Vault sites, three by the end of 2017.

“Sheffield is on our hit list and then we’re looking towards Birmingham as well as moving south a bit.”

Pivovar currently operates seven sites, all of which had experienced growth in the past year, Hawksworh said.

“This year we’re up by over 15% [across the group].

“Over the group we’ll turnover combined accounts of about £8 million this year so it’s very pleasing.”

Pivovar operated with around 20% profit, he said.
