Orchid, the managed pub group, is rolling out a vast range of updates to its food offerings with menu changes that focus on the key drivers for each of its business. One of the main developments is the launch of a new kids’ menus across the group’s Great British Carvery, Free House Dining, Independent Local and Modern British pubs. It includes Toddler Tapas, Grown-Up Food, Little Sweeties and Simply Scrummy. The Simply Scrummy range is Orchid’s own take on kids’ ready meals, developed with award-winning catering company Oak Farm Foods. In the group’s Modern British pubs it is enhancing traditional British favourites with new sharing boards, updated food presentation, more fish and a new sharer section including mini pies. The company’s carvery pubs now feature a wide range of new offerings from sharers and starters to mains and desserts, which Orchid said would complement its full roast dinners and expand choice for customers. Simon Dodd, commercial & people director at Orchid, said: “Updates in each segment are aimed at offering more quality for the same price, adding in value without reducing quality or narrowing our range. We have taken our cue from the current trends in eating out and developed them to work for our different sectors; to enhance the customer experience and give people more of what they want when eating out.”
