JD Wetherspoon (JDW) has appointed CBRE and Savills to sell seven further pubs, in addition to the 32 already on the market.

The new properties comprise a mix of five freeholds and two leasehold units and are located in England and Scotland. They will all continue to remain open and trading as Wetherspoon outlets until they are sold.

In its recent trading update, JDW said that the majority of the additional seven sites it was looking to dispose of where in close proximity to existing pubs.

Paul Breen, director at Savills commented: “Despite the volatility in the current market interest in the properties which went onto the market in September has been encouraging with terms now agreed for several of the sites. We expect these additional properties to be equally appealing.”

A full list of the pubs are as follows: Coronet, Holloway; Cross Keys, Peebles; General Sir Redvers Buller, Crediton; Lord Arthur Lee, Fareham; Plough & Harrow, Hammersmith; Saltoun Inn, Fraserburgh; and Thomas Leaper, Derby.

Earlier this month, JDW reported a 9.6% increase in like-for-like (lfl) sales in the first 14 weeks of its financial year, versus 2021 figures.

The level of lfl growth was strongest in the first nine weeks to 6 November 2022, at +10.1%, before reducing to 8.9% for the last five weeks.
