Greene King has relaunched its children's menu at its Hungry Horse brand, focussing on healthy choices. The 'Pony Club' menu features the 'Be Healthy – 5 A Day' logo to remind children and parents of the recommended daily intake of fruit and vegetables, as well as a heart-shaped icon containing nutritional information. The menu now includes a greater variety of vegetables, fresh fruit desserts, and also offers children an extra portion of vegetables with their meal from just 25p. Additions to the menu include a low fat spaghetti meal, and a salad dish topped with a choice of two from tuna, chicken, prawns or cheese. Greene King said the change had been prompted by consumer research. Adam Collet, the company’s marketing director, said: "Following several months of research and development, this new menu has a strong emphasis on healthy options. "Our ongoing commitment is to provide our customers with the ability to make a choice about their diet, and the same principle applies to both children and adults. As customer attitudes and expectations evolve, we will continue to adapt our menus."
