Beacon pubs, the tenanted arm of Enterprise’s pub estate, is rolling out MatchPint to more than half of its pubs in time for the World Cup after a trial scheme last month.

The smartphone app allows users to check in on MatchPint and receive a voucher for a free pint of John Smith’s ale or Fosters, which drives footfall during key sporting events .

Andrew Parker, retail operations manager for Beacon, said: “MatchPint is a fantastic platform which allows both the publican and the customer to make the most of sport in their local pub environment. It’s incredibly easy to use and also offers a great way for our publicans to drive footfall by running promotions to tie in with noted sporting events.”

The app was trialled during the UEFA Champions League Final when 267 vouchers were redeemed across the 42 participating outlets. The partnership is now being rolled out to 100 outlets with further promotions being run during England’s World Cup warm up matches.

Beacon supported its tenants to honour the voucher scheme. Beacon Pubs has become the first major tenanted operator to partner with MatchPint.
