Mike Clayton, the former managing director of Jennings Brothers, has joined Trust Inns as head of the Lancashire group’s managed pubs division. In addition to working for Jennings, Clayton has worked at Greenalls, Boddington’s Pub Company and Inn Partnership. Clayton will have responsibility for the development of Herald Inns & Bars, owned by Trevor Hemmings, which includes the Brannigans chain. The division will see more than 30 sites refurbished and extended over the next 18 months. Brian King, the managing director of Trust Inns, told the Morning Advertiser, "Mike has a wealth of experience in the trade which will be invaluable as Herald continues a busy refurbishment and improvement programme. "We are delighted he has joined us as he was the ideal man to take charge of Herald at such a crucial time." Trust Inns has over 500 leased and tenanted pubs across the UK.
