This International Women’s Day on Thursday 8th March, Old Spitalfields Market collaborate with Ladies of Restaurants to offer unique insight into women’s achievement in the workplace.

Focusing on the hospitality and retail industry, this day of free talks from a series of inspirational women, will feature subjects including ‘I can’t go for that’, an open discussion on battling sex, sexism and sexual harassment in the workplace, ’Greed, for lack of a better word, is good’, looking at how to secure your dream salary and ‘I’m kind of a big deal’ on the pressures of trying to “have it all”.

According to a recent report on women in hospitality, travel and leisure by PwC, progress on gender diversity in pub and restaurant businesses has trailed behind other companies in hospitality. Representation of women in these businesses falls even lower when you take out the percentage who are working in HR.

Ladies of Restaurants founders Libby Andrews (Pho) and Natalia Ribbe (Eighty Six list) will lead the talks alongside a panel of women from businesses in Old Spitalfields Market and beyond, with the likes of Emma Reynolds, Owner of Tonkotsu, Olivia Immesi, GM of Ace Hotel Shoreditch, Nicole Ferris, MD of Climpson Coffee, Niamh Scott-Szyzmczyk, GM of Hawksmoor Guildhall, and Zan Kaufman, founder of Bleecker Burger.
