Peter Davies has stepped down as chief operating officer of Harris + Hoole, the coffee shop venture from Taylor St Barista, in which Tesco has a stake, and is set to join Starbucks UK in a similar role, M&C Report understands.

Davies, former SSP operations director, joined the company just after it was launched in Amersham two years ago. It has since grown to c45 sites located on high streets and within Tesco stores.

He leaves as the group has pulled back on its openings programme, with only its forthcoming site in Stansted Airport lined up for next year so far.

Earlier this summer, the company, which is led by Nick Tolley closed six of its sites in London and the Home Counties as it looked to consolidate its estate.

At the same time, M&C Report understands that Ashton Crosby has left his role as commercial director at H+H, and have moved back into the strategy & business development director role within Tesco ‘s New Food Experiences team which is the unit that invested in H+H, Euphorium Bakery, Giraffe, Fred’s and Decks.
