Alan Stillman, Smith & Wollensky Group chairman, tells the Financial Times he would love to bring his chain of predominantly steakhouse restaurants to the UK.
He says he would “love to have a go” even though he could not sell US beef here.
Indeed, he revealed he came near to bringing the 16-strong chain to London several years ago after nearly clinching a deal with The Savoy.
The chain operates in nine different cities across the US and has annual sales of $160m (£81.82).
