Britain’s most senior policemen have called for nightclubs and pubs to be forced to stop discounting alcohol.
They say the businesses should pay for the policing of the binge-drinking that makes many town centres no-go areas at the weekend.
The British Beer and Pub Association said discounting was not to blame but drink-as-much-as-you-like promotions for a £10 entry fee.
