Patisserie Valerie, the Risk Capital Partners-backed café chain, is set to increase its presence in Scotland with the opening of two further sites in Edinburgh and its first in Glasgow.

The c80-strong brand, which opened its latest site in Derby Westfield earlier this month, is set to open in Edinburgh’s George IV Bridge street near the end of this month, with a further unit planned for the city’s buiness district before the end of the year.

The group, which made its debut in Edinburgh in its North Bridge Street and Rose Street last year, is also thought to have secured a unit in Glasgow city centre for an opening later this summer.

It is currently opening a new unit every three weeks, with a second site in Leeds also set to come on line.

Paul May, chief executive of the company, told M&C Report last December that the group could eventually operate an estate of over 200 sites in the UK, predominantly under the Patisserie Valerie brand.
