EP, formerly Eldridge Pope, is to convert 15 of its high street Toad bars into Que Pasa venues following the success of the brand since its launch five years. Que Pasa was launched in Oxford five years ago by the management team who have taken over Eldridge Pope. Now as part of a £15m investment by the company's new owner, Michael Cannon, the Toad bars will be converted. Clive Smith, spokesman for EP said the conversion was because the Que Pasa concept was so successful. Last night the pub concept was nominated for Best Retail Bar Brand of the Year by Flavour Magazine. Operations director Tim Bird said: "The bar opens in the morning serving top quality fresh coffee, drinks and lunches. There is a lot of emphasis on fresh food and features tapas-style dishes to share, stone pizzas, gourmet burgers and salads." In the evening the bars turn into more of a party atmosphere catering for those 25 and older.
