Eclectic, the newly-listed bar operator, has appointed Richard Kleiner, executive director of the company’s backer Avanti Capital, as a non-executive director.

He is the managing partner of chartered accountants Gerald Edelman, where he has been a partner since 1986. He was a founder of Gerald Edelman Financial Solutions Limited, the financial services arm of Gerald Edelman, acting for several years as its compliance officer.

Eclectic said he brings a “wealth of experience” covering public company governance, accounting and tax expertise, as well as a general business background.

Reuben Harley, chief executive off Eclectic, said: “We have known Richard for many years and he has always proved thoughtful and insightful. His addition to the board completes the team and ensures we have the balance of skills around the board to successfully take the business forward.”

Kleiner said: “I am delighted to be joining the board of Eclectic at these very exciting times and look forward to assisting with the continued development and growth of the company.”

He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and an associate member of the Life Assurance Association.
