Deliveroo has launched its Roobox remote kitchen concept internationally, with an opening in Holland.

The first overseas Roobox opened at the RAI premises in Amsterdam, with local operators Braai, Sla and Salsa Shop renting units.

MCA revealed last week that Deliveroo is to open its first Roobox remote kitchen outside of London – in Brighton & Hove.

The move will see the online delivery platform partner with two new national chains – Gourmet Burger Kitchen and the Thai Leisure Group.

The TLG offer will be a delivery only version of its Thaikhun brand and will operate 5pm to 11pm Monday to Friday and 12pm to 11pm at weekends – opening it up to the Brighton & Hove market for the first time.

GBK, which already operates two sites in Brighton, will see its delivery radius expanded to include Hove as part of its partnership with Deliveroo.

Alasdair Murdoch, chief executive of GBK, told MCA: “We are undertaking a trial with Deliveroo into a number of Rooboxes over the next year or so, during that time we will evaluate and if successful I am sure we would roll out into more.”

MCA understands that will include GBK opening at the Roobox in Camberwell.
