A fundraising bid for a new coffee shop-meets-restaurant venture, which has plans to expand to high streets across the country, has launched on Crowdcube.

Deluxe Coffee is seeking to raise £107,000 from the sale of a 15% equity stake in the business.

The pitch says: “Our plan is to open many Deluxe Coffee’s restaurants in the UK and the first of which will be in the capital, London. The London restaurant will be our flagship restaurant and go towards advertising our intent for Deluxe Coffee.

“Within 2-3 years we would like to see it expanding steadily and relatively fast at the same time aiming to earn the UK market and present ourselves as the de facto standard for coffee and dinning. We will initially be looking to expand into, but not limited to, Canterbury, Cambridge, Oxford and Manchester.”

The project is headed by Marina and Simon Church. According to the pitch, Simon has been “working in higher management within the Square Mile for over 20 years” and Marina has “extensive experience in the field of management and organisation” and has been involved in nutrition and food safety teaching.

Deluxe Coffee is billed as being “very different” to other options on the market, “if not revolutionising what is currently offered by the branded high street coffee houses”.

“The aim is to provide the best coffee house experience by offering a high quality coffee, supplemented by high quality freshly prepared food offerings in a vibrant and at the same time elegant atmosphere.”

The pitch adds: “We have identified a number of premises in London and are currently in negotiation for any rental discount or incentives. One of the premises is close to Halifax, GAP, H&M, HMV and Marks and Spencer.

“As well as being a very busy area this location has been specifically chosen as there are no direct competitors in the area who are trying to offer the same level of service and product offerings that Deluxe Coffee will be offering.

“There are key competitors such as Costa and Starbucks nearby but Deluxe Coffee will be offering a different type of coffee shop, which will be explained in detail later.”
