Le Pain Quotidien, the all-day bakery and cafe concept, has secured its 24th site in the UK, after acquiring the McDonald’s unit in Hampstead High Street.

The company, which opened its latest site in London in St. Paul’s earlier this year, is looking to add another 15 to 20 sites in the UK in the coming three years.

McDonald’s sold the unit in Hampstead after 21 years of trading from the site.

Earlier this year, Le Pain strengthen its UK head office team with the appointment of former Zizzi marketeer Elizabeth Norris as its new marketing director and ex-Starbucks asset manager Ben Suffolk as its new head of property.

It has over 175 stores worldwide in 17 different countries.

The concept is poised for continued growth within the capital, as well as specific areas within the M25.

Richard Negus at AG&G acted for Le Pain on the Hampstead deal.
