Tim Bosworth, the founder ‘London-inspired’ coffee shop and lifestyle concept Hoxton North, says he is eyeing an estate of sites across the north.

Bosworth said the brand, which sells homeware accessories in a coffee shop and wine bar setting, was inspired by his time in London. He said he had identified a market of people in their 30s and 40s who were settling back home in the north after forging careers in London and wanted to maintain some of their lifestyle from the capital.

The brand opened its first store in Harrogate’s Parliament Street and has now secured its second site in the town. Bosworth described the feel of the new site as a mixture of Melbourne bar chic and London and New York cocktails.

He said he was potential investors about the next stage of growth and said he would like to add a site a year, with Leeds the next target.

He said: “There has been a huge migration in the past few years of people who have left London and come back home to the north. They still want to enjoy that lifestyle and they want the choice of paying £120 for a bottle of wine if that’s what they feel like.

“I think the future for Hoxton North is all about keeping that core offer but using the space to offer as many alternatives – whether that’s leisure or retail – as customers could want.”
