Hotcha, which secured £7.5m of new investment earlier this year towards its goal of becoming the “Domino’s Pizza of Chinese takeaway market”, has lined up five new openings, including its first in Yorkshire.

The James Liang-led group, which secured a five-year loan from Beechbrook Capital, has lined up openings in Bournemouth, Exeter, Cardiff, Newbury and Leeds, for openings over the next six months.

The 11-strong group said it planned to use the investment to open a further 10 stores by March next year as it embarks on a campaign to become the “UK’s first nationwide Chinese takeaway brand”.

Earlier this summer, MCA revealed that Andy Emmerson, former business development director at Domino’s Pizza UK & Ireland, has stepped up to become chairman of the business, after originally joining it as a non-executive director.

It had earmarked sites in Fulham, Brent Cross, Eltham and Romford in Essex to open by the end of 2016, but those proposed openings are now likely to slip into next year.
