Shares in JD Wetherspoon rose 12.5% to 384p after the pub group reported a 1.9% rise in first half like-for-like sales. The company said that demand for breakfasts helped raise revenues by 6.5% in the six weeks to 25 January. The group said that it sold more than 700,000 coffees and breakfasts a week, which is more than many cafe chains.
