Wagamama, has appointed Stephen Boyce, currently head of property at Arcadia, as its new property director, as it looks to open c45 new sites over the next three years.

Boyce will join the c115-strong company later in the year, taking over from interim director of property John Ritchie.

Wagamama chief executive David Campbell said: “I am delighted to announce that Stephen Boyce will join us as property director and will form part of the executive team for the business. Stephen is currently Head of Property for Arcadia, prior to this he was Head of Property for Sainsbury’s Convenience Division during an aggressive expansion drive of 75+ new units per year. I look forward to Stephen starting, and am very confident he will quickly make a great addition to the executive team. I would also like to express thanks to John Ritchie for his work as interim director of Property.”

The company’s executive team is now: Campbell: CEO, Jane Holbrook: CFO, Sarah Hills: UK Operations Director, Simon Cope: Global Brand Director, Stephen Boyce: Property Director and Andy Moat: People Director.

Cope told M&C last November that the company will continue to grow its UK estate with the opening of “dramatic” sites such as its recently opened Trafford Centre and Great Marlborough Street restaurants.

He said that the group’s Trafford Centre restaurant and its two new airport sites had performed particularly well, with business as a whole going well.

The company also plans to undertake 50 refurbishments over the next three years.
