The site formerly housing Piquet, the Fitzrovia-based restaurant set up by chef Allan Pickett and restaurateur Andre Blais, which went into administration one year after opening, has been secured by the Fork & Blade group, MCA understands

Fork & Blade currently operates the Black Penny, the Great Queen Street-based café, and the Ted’s Grooming Room chain across London.

It has yet to reveal its plans for the Newman Street-based site.

Shelley Sandzer acted on the Newman Street deal.

Chef-patron Pickett announced he was taking a “leave of absence” from the 98-cover restaurant in June.

Piquet posted a statement on its website stating: “The company has ceased to trade, no further orders will be taken and no further deliveries will be made.

“The joint administrators will contact all creditors and employees of the company by post which will contain the relevant information creditors and employees will require to make a claim in the administration. The affairs, business and property of the company are being managed by the joint administrators.”
